St Stephen’s Church, Bank Street Blairgowrie will host the inaugural EW Pugin Lecture to celebrate restoration of the church building designed by this famous architect and member of the Pugin Dynasty. Their legacy includes the Houses of Parliament and many famous ecclesiastical buildings. St Stephen’s was the first of his four Scottish churches.
Dr Gerald Hyland of the Pugin Society will deliver the lecture aimed at students and professionals of architecture, heritage and the built environment, as well as members of civic and other societies. He will highlight the importance of the Gothic revival in EW Pugin’s design. Light refreshments will follow. There will be no charge. However, donations will be gratefully accepted.
